Balıkesir University has implemented the Vocational Training in Business (3+1) Model in its vocational schools to ensure that students graduate more equipped and ready for professional life. Introduced for the first time in 2023, this model aims for students to complete three semesters at school and one semester in businesses, receiving practical training. The purpose of the model is to help students integrate their theoretical knowledge with real-world experience, develop professional skills, gain work discipline, and increase employment opportunities after graduation. During the 2023–2024 academic year, the program was launched, students were placed in companies across various sectors, and the first evaluations were conducted. With the 2024–2025 academic year, the program has entered its second year, and surveys and evaluation reports have been prepared to measure student and employer satisfaction. As of today, the Vocational Training in Business Model at Balıkesir University Vocational Schools continues as a sustainable and robust program that meets both students’ professional development needs and industry demands.
